The Littleton Police Department understand that Domestic Violence has become an ever increasing problem in our society. According to a study done by the Department of Justice in 2000, approximately 1.3 million women and 835,000 men are physically abused each year. About 1,300 of those attachs end in a fatal outcome. Domestic Violence is everywhere and affects us all. We believe Police Officers can be a valuable, trusted avenue for those that have been victimized.
It is because of this, and to gain a better understanding of how to effectively handle domestic violence situations that we come across, Detective Pablo Fernandez volunteered to be sent to a specialized training put on by the Department of Homeland Security. The training offered insight into the dynamics of Domestic Violence and gave Detective Fernandez the ability to also teach what he has learned to other members of our Department. Detective Fernandez has become a valuable resource for our Department and the community. If you or anyone you know is being victimized, the members of the Littleton Police Department are here to help you. We are here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
