Chief of Police Matthew J. King was promoted to Acting Chief in May 2014 and appointed as Chief on September 3, 2014. He has been with the Littleton Police Department since May 1982. While at the Police Department he has held all ranks available within the department, including Patrolman, Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant, the department’s first Deputy Chief before being appointed to his current rank.
Throughout his career Chief King has been a force behind the department’s outreach and community policing efforts.
Chief King holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Western New England University and a degree from the University of Maine Orono. He is a graduate of the 125th Administrative Officers Course at the Southern Police Institute, University of Louisville. He also attended the Babson College School of Police Management.

This commitment means we must communicate in as many forms as possible to the community; this website is one of those tools. As our community moves forward with new and innovative changes the department must also keep pace. Our department is committed to serving the Town of Littleton with pride, fairness and a sense of community.
